As I posted in the health insurance string for the last couple of months I've being fighting breast cancer, well today my surgeon confirmed the message the onocologist told me last Tuesday. He gave me the letter from the Cancer Clinic to read.Being a firm believer in that if it ain't in writting, don't believe in what you are told. The letter confimed that there was NO further treatment for my cancer needed and I am home free to get on with life.I think I'll have a wee dram or two tonight. Cheers

My brother is a scientist working on a vaccine for breast cancer. These sort of stories always make me think of him and the challenges everyone faces in your position. Congratulations.

My confirnation of being Cancer free came after 5 years of 6 monthly visits to the Hospital- Only to be be told- see you in 6 months. On the 5th year they actually stated that the C had not been present for 5 years so I was officially clear. We don't get it in writing over here- but just those words you are clear lifted a great big weight off my shoulders.

Congrats and get out on the bike and ride. Should be worth a couple of slices of PIE this time to celebrate.

Good for you!
In somewhat related news, my 28-year-old son is closing in on the 26th anniversary of his diagnosis with leukemia. One more reminder to have hope.

It's my belief that in the near future the treatment for those who get a cancer that they haven't created a vacine for will consist of a simple biopsy to get some of the cancer cells. Which are then sent off to a lab where the guys in white coats will generate a simple "antibody "treatment for your sepcific cancer.A week you'll show up a your G.P.'s office for an injection of the "antibody"treatment and see you later. However,Mother Nature being the person she is will have by then come up with an other life threatening disease to take cancers place.

As another cancer survivor (kidney cancer) I know you have just lost 100 pounds of worry. Enjoy getting on with your life. Don't forget to take the time to smell the flowers. bk
