Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - 10.5

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Did anyone else see the beginning of 10.5 tonight? It had a pretty cool URBAN ASSALT cyclist as the main character. Pretty wild ride! I could never imagine!

10.5 is a mini-series on NBC about the "Big One" earthquake on the west coast.
The first scene had the Urban Assult cyclist doing some pretty good stunts.

ok, what was the deal with the opening sequence and the cyclist?
this was a terrible movie! wow... sort of a fushion of styles -- NYPD Blue cinematography with the editing of "24." But... what really caught my attention was the 2nd shot of San Fran's City Hall - as the camera was pulling away from it -- the shot was a reversed shot of the push to the City Hall - the traffic was moving backwards.
It just started over here on the PDT timezone. My wife and I were rolling off the couch with laughter because of the inaccuracies. The urban riding scene did rock though. Does anyone know if the stunts were authentic or if there was CGI + wire-removal imaging tricks involved?

I watched that bicyclist bombing down the stairs, and I was quite interested. Whence the action stopped and the dialogue started, I put a DVD of "21 Grams" in.
Yea guys. I agree that the movie leave something to be desired. I was a hostage to the wife's TV choices of the evening. So, I went out and worked on the bike after the initial scene. :)

While there was a lot of inadvertant comedy in the rest of the movie, the critiques have thus far been the most amusing. For instance, when interviewed about the opening scene, one representative from the Space Needle Company that manages the structure remarked, "well, there sure was a lot of falling concrete for an all-steel structure." :D I think I'm going to continue to watch it because it takes me back to my youths and the days of low-budget sci-fi movies.
More good readin. The movie is a hoot. Here's some sensible replies, to the scientist travesties of the film.

The local news here gathered a bunch of USGS scientists and FEMA officials into a room and had them watch the movie. They then taped their reactions. Some of them almost fell over in their chairs with laughter.
