HI,
I ride out of the city into to the backbay area its pretty isolated , wild deer, ducks, blue herons, and even otters.
took a couple picture with my phone wanted to share this is on a little bridge looking down a creek.

its was around 28 deg that morning and the water was steaming warm compared to the air.
there must have been a 1,000 snow geese in a field that was previously harvested probably corn field.
It looked like it had snowed so many geese and noisy.. honk honk

Not bad pics for a phone. I love seeing wildlife on rides. And the wildlife doesn't have to be anything exotic to be fun. We have TONS of geese and we are in the migratory path of many species of birds. There are clouds of birds all over.

Thanks for the pic! Do you have any recommendations for some rides in that area? Sometimes I like to drive down from No. VA when it looks like the weather will be substantially nicer a bit south of here.

Concur. I love morning rides. Around here we get really lucky. I often see kangaroos, echidnas, the odd wombat and even a few koalas taking a dozy walk. I really ought to do more to take a few pics. Oh yeah, it's generally cooler in summer... freezing in winter :D
