I bought a DJ3 on ebay when I origianly build up my bike so it didn't come with a manual. I know it's an air/oil spring combo. Any one know how I an adjust the stiffness. I've taken some pretty large drops (4-5 feet) to flat landings and it only compresses about half way. Do I simply lower the pressure in the air/oil side?
Marzocchi's site is very comprehensive with pictures and manuals for all of their forks back to 2001, even OEM forks. So check their website first.
I have an older Marzocchi DJ fork (don't know year or specific model 1/2/3, so I haven't had luck finding the manual), but it has two Schrader air inlets at the top of each leg. It does not have much travel, usually 60-80mm. The air pressure adjusts the stiffness, and also kind of adjusts the preload (the fork sags more, the less air is put into it, and also it is easier to compress). The rebound seems to be set by the oil weight. I've tried putting a different pressure in one leg vs the other, but it doesn't seem to do much and anyway I think it's bad because each leg effectively has a different weight spring in it.
