Cyclocross - 08 Felt F1x vs 06 Felt F1x

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hey guys/gals, this will be my first "real" bike and im trying to decide between a Brand new 08 Felt f1x for $1,150 or a 06 Slightly used (taken out 20 times perfect condition) for $950. Both are completely stock.
I am not versed enough in bikes yet to know what the real differences are yet but from the research I have done the 06 has ultegra components and the 08 has shimano 105 witch is actually a downgrade...
what else is there to consider?
an advice will be much appreciated, thanks in advace.

If they won't budge on the '06 (assuming it's stock), that's a LOT for a 3 year old bike when you can get the brand new '08 for $200 more....
For the new or average rider, not much different between ultegra and 105...actually '08 105 is probably same or better than '06 Ultegra...

Consider making real brake pads your first purchase or have them throw them in. That'll improve the Felts braking from simply horrid to almost tolerable.
The 105/Ultegra Combo on the 08 works just fine.
I don't know if there are any real differences between the 06 and the 08 but I like my 07 just fine except for the braking issues and Mini-V's solved that for good for me.
I have an 06 F1X. I bought it last spring off of Craigslist for $700 with pedals and shoes. The bike was perfect and had only been ridden around the park a few times by an old guy.
It is a great bike. I have used it for just bumming around on paved and dirt roads, one road race, and a bit on mountain bike trails and out in the desert. I think it was one of the best purchases I ever made.
