Hello,

I found two Mavic Cosmic Aero 700C wheels for 150.00 dollars. The person doesn't have a lot of background information, and after scouring the web I can only find the Mavic's that I'm sure they aren't (like the Carbon ones for megabucks).

I was wondering about the hubs (which he said were also mavic's), most importantly the bearing types.

They look pretty good from the pics, is this a decent quality wheelset?

Thank you

Fortunately I can see a lot of things from that picture

1) Unknown state of rim wear
2) Unknown state of rim true
3) Unkonwn state of hub wear

If I was to meet this person, would there be a way to detect at least rim wear? I'm assuming I could check the true by having him put in on a bike (if not my own). The hub, as long as they are user serviceable (I want to repack/replace bearings) before spring, is there visual queues?

Thank You,
John

A quick google search shows a vendor selling them new for $500. They are also reviewed on Road Bike review.com. Reviews are not exactly stellar. But I do not have any personal experience with them.
