just got my first carbon frame and it takes a 1 1/8 internal headset . So I bought one now it does not just set in or was the wrong size headset in the box . If not do you have to press them in?
I thought with the internals they just sat in with out the need of a press?

Not enough information.

There are different types of "internal headsets" depending on the frame. Assuming you even have an internal headset frame.

Provide more information please.

No. They should fit in without a press. Do NOT press them in or your could totally ruin your frame. You need a smaller internal headset probably.

That may or may not be correct.

A true "integrated" headset has the bearing cartridges sit on bearing seats molded or machined into the actual head tube ends and they are a finger tight fit. There are several bearing configurations too and none are interchangable.

A "zero-stack" headset has cups (sort of like a regular headset but with out the cyclidrical sections) that have to be pressed into the headtube ends and act as bearing seats.

Either contact the frame supplier for the exact specifications of the headset you need or see an LBS for a determination.
