I'm still trying to figure out this WKO+ stuff... the data is simply overwhelming and the options are hard to decipher. But I finally got my new PT installed and found out that my original wheel is actually not dished correctly :( Also, the cassette offset on the PT wheel is different than my original wheel. Damn.
Anyhoo.. I think I will be training and racing with the PT. So if you want to find me during the races, I have a front Bontrager wheel and a rear DT swiss wheel with a PT. :roflmao2:

I don't see a problem with mismatched wheels.
Enjoy your new implement of suffering.

Huge workout! Next week shoot for 11 Kj's. Up it 10-20% each week, and you'll be up over 50 Kj's in no time!
In all seriousness, have fun with that thing. I bought a used PT in November and it does change things... not necessarily all for the good.
i want power. :(
hey scummer did you get the competitive cyclist deal?
later.

Sure did. For 649$ I just couldn't resist. One thing I don't like, the spokes are not double butted. Other than that, it looks like a very solid wheel which I will also be using for CX in the winter.

FWIW - I have no intention of using my powertap for cyclocross. I have accidentally kicked everything located along any of the stays during remounts so many times it's pathetic. If the wiring harness/sensor was there I would ram it into the wheel for sure, or tear the wires up.
I would only race a powertap in cyclocross if:
1. It was wireless
2. It was the newer version that is waterproof - or at least more waterproof than my version.
3. It wasn't mine and I was under no obligation to repair or replace it WHEN it ended up trashed by sand, mud, water, impact, etc....
I can't begin to tell you how many times I hit the deck in cyclocross. Hell I flipped over the front wheel once just riding around pre-race.....but even frozen earth is softer than pavement in a crit.

I'll remember this thread for the next time you're ragging on my for accidentally crashing my bike. Don't get me wrong, I've hit/bumped/smashed/wrecked more than my fair share of stuff on the 'cross rig... but I'm not sure it's that much more than you. I just crash more spectacularly.

Will do! I almost fell of the rollers yesterday trying to fiddle with the darn PT and forgetting I was on them.

Sweet!
Do you have the coggan/allen training with power book? there's also a pamphlet (floating around the 'net as a .pdf) that does a good job of breaking down training with power. I can email you a copy if you can't find it... the google group "wattage" also has it posted.

Your's are not only more spectacular, but your timing also seems to be much less fortunate.
I crash with style. Not quite recursive style. But a style nonetheless.
