Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Clyde resources in NYC
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've just moved to NYC (Manhattan) and need to re-boot my cycling. Can anyone point me in a good direction for clyde-friendly resources? I'm looking for things like 1) slower weekend group rides, 2) good stores that have clyde-sized cold weather clothing, 3) nice routes (up the west side of the island seems a winner), etc.
Thanks in advance,

Send a PM to Air.
He's an NYC CLyde.
For clothing...I really haven't found a good place. Sids on 34th between 2nd and 3rd has a decent selection but of more higher end stuff. For slow rides check out Times-Up (http://times-up.org) or 5BBC (http://5bbc.org/rides.shtml) rides.
Also a bunch of us go on either the TU Central Park moonlit rides (also in PP) (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=242301&page=11), I organize fun night rides during the week (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=249306&page=25) with an emphasis on fun and food, or when you get faster you can start hammering up to Nyack (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=293387&page=21).
Also come play in the Northeast area (have some references in my sig that might be useful too).

Thanks Air! I ended up finding a few things at Paragon this weekend. I'm out of town for the next week or so but will then try to come out for a few rides and kick into high gear. Need to put in some base miles in prep for RAGBRAI...
