I have a Breezer Lightning (circa ~ 1995) that is XTR, with cook bros cranks that I plan to sell on ebay. It also has a front wheel with Hugi hub built with titanium spokes. Shock is brand new Judy TT. It has a Chris King headset, but I'll probably let that go with the frame if I part it out.

Do you think I'd get more money by parting out the bike or by selling it whole?

I hope to use the proceeds to put together a fixed gear road bike. By the way, I have another Breezer mtn bike so I'm not totally giving up trail riding.

I may be interested in the cook cranks. How long are they and could you send me a picture of them?

How much would you want out of them?

Based on my experience you can get more if you part it all out but it's more work and it takes longer to receive compensation. If you part it out, take a pic of the bike built for your records or to send to prospective buyers.

Problem I've had with parting it out, is that you may or may not sell all the parts. You may have some stuff left over for the "parts" bin. This may or may not be bad for you.

The other issue is that instead of dealing with one buyer you're now dealing with 15 buyers. Some good, some bad, some may be deadbeat bidders. Plus, that's 15 trips to the delivery place (I use Fed Ex myself) and 15 checks you have to cash.

If it where me, I'd list it complete, you may not make as much $, but when you consider what your time is worth, you'll be better off with less hassle and boom it's done and outta here!

i'd part it out into several packages, such as frame with all the bolt-ons(headset, derailleurs, bb, seatpost, stem and bars, shifters, brakes), then sell the fork and the wheels and crankset separately. as long as you don't have to go into selling every part piece by piece, you can make a little bit more and also not have that much more hassle.
