GET YOUR BICYCLES OUT BECAUSE CRANK MOB is TONIGHT!!!!! (http://www.midnightridazz.com/viewStory.php?storyId=2304)

C.R.A.N.K. MOB is a monthly bike ride dance party masquerade carnival sextravaganza.

We meet on the first Saturday after the third Friday of each month at the big red brick building on Sawtelle Blvd and La Grange Ave in West LA. At 10:00pm we ride into the night and our intergalactic roving bike dance party takes the streets of West LA, Mar Vista, Palms, Westwood, Century City, Culver City and Venice. Like other bike rides, C.R.A.N.K. MOB is a theme ride: ANYTHING GOES.

this is gonna be so tight :D:D

Last time I went on a Crankmob ride, the average age was <20, and we rode probably 2 miles, then stopped for 2hrs 30min in a grocery store parking lot just milling around. I was bored. Probably better for the teenyboppers.

A few of my friends are into the whole fixie hipster thing and asked me to go. This is what really turned me off. I get bored if I'm with my bike and not riding or on slow rides. 2 miles of riding and I'm still cold.

haha i understand how it can be a lame ride too... but it's all good i'm going to try it out. it's not 2 miles, it's 12 miles, which... should be a fun leisurely ride with gloves and a cool beanie, haha

It'll take you all freaking night to go 12 miles with them. I could literally keep up with them on a BigWheel. Heck, I'd definitely beat them on a Bigwheel (no joke), as they stop for hours every 2-3 miles. I suspect walkers could even beat them, actually. It's a sucky ride. Good hangout, but sucky sucky ride - don't even think of it as one.

Bonus points for using the term "sucky."

600+ people, 20 miles of mellow riding, live band, sound trailers, (relatively few crashes, only one bike stolen), etc.

It was a pretty fun time all in all.

See midnightridazz.com for more of the night time social rides.

That's a pretty accurate description of how the night went. it was some of the most fun i've ever had for free.

You forgot that we stopped on that alley where and took over an entire party/rave, hahaahahahahah

Yes, this ride was full of young people, yes, this ride is not good for training for centuries, yes the group takes very long breaks to drink/smoke/social. It was so much fun!!!!
