Let's see, where do I begin?
My name is Barry, recently turned 35, and from Houston, TX. I use to ride a lot in my early teens, around the same time American Flyers (which is still a great flick, btw). After taking a decade or two off, I toyed with the idea of starting up again. My girlfriend is pretty active and she's been encouraging me to get off the couch.. It wasn't until I signed up for this year's MS 150 that I finally took the plunge and haven't looked back. First couple of rides were absolutely brutal as I started to get back into bike shape. Yesterday, rode the Humble Lions Ride and completed 55-miles with no problems. Guess I finally broke my physical/mental road blocks and very proud of my self.
Anyway, I found this forum from researching the Shiner Bash/GASP ride in May. Since none of my close friends bike, I've been looking for an outlet to discuss cycling; so I'm glad I came across this site. Looking forward to participating and take care.
