Hey,
So I've been throwing the idea around for a while and I'm pretty set on starting to do some frame builds. I have a fair bit of welding experience, but the way I see it is, the best way to start is just to track down someone in town who does it and try learn from them. But, basically what I'm asking for is any words of wisdom, or advice from other frame builders out there before I take on such endeavours. I have far more experience brazing than I do with TIG welding but I'm open to both methods, although brazing with silver seems like the way to go. But yeah, words of wisdom would be awesome. Thanks guys!

ps. uhhh....anyone need a frame :)

The Paternek manual is now a free download from Tim's site in an earlier version. Read that, then get the tapes, either rent them or buy them. There are so many of them, buying and reselling the DVD might actually be smarter. By the time you do all that with some experience, you won't immediately need a local builder and he probably doesn't need the distraction either.

I would actually be curious how many builders out there actually sold their first or second frame. I bet the number is pretty large. There is some hostility on the subject though.
