Fifty Plus (50+) - It Feels So Good

I don't care if it's wasteful but I turned the thermostat up to 72F this morning (instead of it's normal setting of 64F) and it feels soooo goooood! It's in the low 30's outside. We stayed in and spent the day in shorts.

I do this once a year. We call it "Our day in Florida". Aaaaaah.

Back to normal tomorrow.

I'd be suffocating at 72F inside, even as a "treat."

Relativity has alot to do with it. When we first moved in 73 degrees. new furnace 71 then new thermostat 69. 62 at night and 76 in the summer.

Due to my wife and daughter, we have ours at 67-day, 61-night. I'd like to drop it by a couple of degrees. I keep my office at 65.

Summers we also set it at 76. Would love to drop it to 72-73, as I like it cooler. But feel like I'm being wasteful.

I like Cranky's concept on this one. One warm day. Too warm for me, but I can appreciate what he's saying. Perhaps I should establish a similar tradition for summer.

I keep mine at 56 day and night. I layer up which is handy as I don't have to add much when going for a ride.

Since I have a tiny apartment and I am pretty much at home day or night because of unemployment, I have been treating myself to keeping it shirtsleeve warm this winter.

I think we should heat our age in winter. I'll keep mine at 66f.

84f in the morning, 94f in the afternoon and maybe 80 at night.
That's outside. Life's hard but, some of us have to do so the rest of you people can have the good life.

We don't have a furnace or A/C, so whatever it is outside . . . pretty much the same inside. We do have small electric space heaters, but they don't get used much. As noted above: Layering is good!

Have a furnace but don't like to feed it so it only gets used rarely, use small space heaters as needed or stoke a fire, but mostly just dress warmly; no AC. Typical temp in the house in the mornings this winter range from low 40s to high 50s depending on weather outside. Summers here house gets a bit warm upstairs so we'll turn a fan or two on, but fortunately the downstairs is sort of sunk into the earth so stays relatively cool even during the days, most nights are relatively cool out which helps a lot.
