Bicycle Mechanics - Any adverse affects to packing a hub freebody with grease? (Shimano Hub)

I developed a really bad creaking sound back at my rear axle/hub. I removed the hub body and found the grease was like mud causing one of the pawls in the hub to stick closed. I cleaned it up and packed new grease into the hub. I guess I must of packed more grease into the hub than it originally came with because it's really quiet now. No more loud ticking!

So my question is,

Is there any adverse affects to packing so much grease into the rear hub that it becomes almost inaudible?

To me it sounds better. I still haven't road tested it to check functionality, but it seems fine on the stand.

Correct. Depending on which grease you used it can get so thick it keeps the freehub from working in cold weather. I've always lubed my freehubs only with Tri-Flow and they never get sticky or sluggish even in temperatures in the low teens but run quietly and last nearly forever.

I've used Phil Tenacious Oil in mine and it's fine below freezing. My cassette is darn quiet.

(Grew up in SoCal- now in the PNW. I like trees.)
