Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Nashbar Men's Sport Saddle?

Any thoughts? I'm 230 and ride up to 50 miles on paved paths.

What do you like that is under $50 or so?

could work for you, but i can't use 'soft' saddles for more than 15 miles... (too uncomfortable; for my heavy urban bike i use a Brooks Flyer, all others have B-17s)

but at $20, you could always return it if the saddle proves unsatisfactory?

I've found the Terry Fly at Performance Bike stores before at $69. But I believe the price has gone up. That seat looks similar but looks can be deceiving.:D

Once you find a saddle that works, it would be hard to go for anything less. Then the money spent on all day comfort is worth it!:thumb:

I'm not sure what type of brand of bike you have. But knowing what I know now, I wouldn't cut back on the saddle. Even if I had a $50 bike, I'd still use the same saddle. I say spend more if you really want to enjoy the ride!

Yea, with me on it.

I replaced an original worn Selle' saddle on the cheap with this thing and find it oddly comfortable. Hard as a rock and cheap as dirt, but must be a match for my butt. Definitely a personal choice -- and once you get a good one you'll know.

Wow, that's an awesome price! Maybe I will just get both and see what I like. I keep thinking I want a firm narrow saddle, but I hate to invest a bunch of $ to find out. I ride more upright than you on a hybrid, do you think that one would still be comfortable if you sat up more and had more weight on the seat instead of the bars?
