Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

My longest 24-hour ride was 320 miles in 2008, I expect to ride a 600k (372mi) in 2009, but doubt I will make a triple century.
How about you?
What was your longest ride in 2008?
What will it be in 2009?
Extra credit - longest ride of your life?
What was your longest ride in 2008?
did a 600k in 39:59... longest 24 hour ride was probably just 430k or so. although i would like to note in included a few mountain passes..
What will it be in 2009?
definitely another 600k, if not two - and this time i'll be shooting for it in 35 hours or so.
maybe 1,000k or a 1200k as well.
and possibly a not-for-credit-just-for-fun 24-hours-or-less triple century. we'll see.
Extra credit - longest ride of your life?
the 600k i did last year.
What was your longest ride in 2008?
150 miles solo in training for my first double century last fall (that I was too sick to start.)
What will it be in 2009?
200 to 205 miles. I'm doing my first double century this weekend in Death Valley. Also Davis and Mt Tam and the Fall Death Valley DC later in the year. 2010 I'd like to do a full SR.
Extra credit - longest ride of your life?
155 miles solo I did a few weeks ago (and rode a bit of the way back with KG).

2008 saw a 24-hour long ride of 432K, a fleche that included a double-crossing of the Cascades. In a snowstorm. Longest ride overall was the Shen1200.
In 2009, I'm planning on the Gold Rush 1200K for the main event. I've got a fleche on tap, but it's an easy one (Ann Arbor to Columbus -- a straight, flat route near the minimum distance). I also hope to do the National 24 Hour, which should get me about 350 miles, if I'm lucky. (My three rides there have been 394, 352 and 356 miles; would love to crack 400, but that would involve actually training, which isn't in my future anytime soon.)

'08: Rocky Mountain 1200 (my first 1200k)
'09: Gold Rush Randonnee (my first US 1200k)
SP
Bend, OR
RUSA #3481
ps - WARNING: 1200's can be addictive. I can't wait for the GRR.
2008 - 303 km
2009 - who knows, I'm moving to Australia so I may or may not have the time to do long rides. I know I won't have time to do my 400K & 600K here in Canada ... so I'll see what happens in Australia.
Longest in a 24-hour period of time - 462.4 km
Longest ever - 1200K four times (RM1200, PBP, GSR, and LC)
My longest ride in 2008 was a 11 mile round trip commute.
My longest ride so far in '09 was the 100k I did yesterday in the rain (felt great!). Longest planned for '09 is a 200k brevet in March. But if that goes well, then I'll plan to do a 300k brevet later in March. And if that goes well, I guess I'll plan for a 400k brevet in April. And if that goes well, then the plan will be a 600k brevet in late May or early June. And of that goes OK... Well, I'm on the waiting list for the GRR as a 'mayberide', so if they get down to me, I guess it's fate and I'll have to give it a try.
But the longest I currently have planned for '09 currently is that Davis Bike Club 200k brevet in 2 weeks. Really. The others are just fantasy for now.

2008 was a three-state fleche that was roughly 400k in length.
2009 will be a 1000k on Vancouver Island to round out the R5000 application
Longest ride of my life was PBP 2007. Unlike bobbycorno, I am not quite addicted to doing 1200k's. At that point, I might as well be touring and getting a decent night's sleep ... but I do have to say that there is something magically alluring about PBP.

my longest ride of 2008 was 55 miles, but with lots of climbing involved. In 2009 I've done a 200k. In 2 weeks I should do another. Yesterday I did 55 miles and it was cold and windy and I got hypothermia. Hoping to do 600k this year, and maybe 1200k.

(My three rides there have been 394, 352 and 356 miles; would love to crack 400, but that would involve actually training, which isn't in my future anytime soon.) Where will you be in late July or early August, we could do a double together on the flood plain, get enough head of schedule to get 400 in 24 -wow and on open roads to boot! I could "plant" fuel and fluids and batteries along the route, or if you buck up - buy personal support for the 1st running of the "Southern Illinois Quad-Century ."
It's an invitation. Anyone?

Longest of 2008: Furnace Creek 508 solo (42:54)
Longest of 2009: 200k
Maybe if I lose my mind I will do something longer. For now the 45 mile club ride on Saturday mornings is good enough for me. Home, showered and in bed taking a nap by 1:00 pm? Sounds good to me.
