I have a "Jeunet" bicycle in my basement collecting dust. My nephew, who is a bicycle enthusiast and racer, saw it and showed a great deal of interest in it. I am considering giving it to him as a gift. I would like to know the approximate value so I'll know that I'm giving him something of worth. I'm sure that he'll appreciate it regardless but if it's only worth a few dollars then I won't feel as magnanimous.

Mafac Racers came on the cheap and the pricey. Cottered crank and steel wheels, maybe not too valuable. Alloy crank and wheels, let's see a pic!

+1 Without pics it could be a $50 bike in ready to ride condition, or something much more valuable. Pics and descriptions are critical: any decals as to frame material, type of wheels, components, etc. Mafac racers were common brakes used on some bottom end boomer bikes.

I have photos but can't seem to get the "attachment" button to work. Under the "posting rules" it says that I am allowed to post attachments but I am having trouble. Any suggestions as to how I can post the photos to you?
Attachments have to be smaller than 100 kilobytes. If you need to resize your photos to get them down to less than 100 kB, you can use the free web-based resizing utility Resize2Mail (http://www.resize2mail.com/).

I noticed that some of the photos didn't come through clearly so I'll try again.

Cottered crank, steel rims, plastic bottom end Simplex rear derailleur, decal headtube badge, it is a nice low end bike from the bike boom era. I get $80 to $100 for similar bikes in ready to ride condition and pass them up if they need any work.
