I recently acquired a nice older lugged Bianchi that I have converted into a single speed commuter. I would like to replace the current handlebars with a wider drop bar but I am having trouble finding 25.4mm bar options. The bike has a very class black anodized 25.4mm quill stem that I would like to matcj with ablack anodized 25.4mm diameter drop bar. Haven't been able to find many 25.4mm drop bars and none anodized in black. Is it best to considered switching to a 26mm quill stem?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've even hunted ebay. Seems like 31.8mm bars are all the rage now.

Look for SR bars. Pretty much all come in 25.4mm and cheap too, around $15-20.

Where can you find SR (Sakae Ringyo?) bars? I did a quick google on that and I just found lots of info about old bikes and parts but nothing for sale.

the other option would be nitto, but they don't offer black parts.

I got some nitto randonneurs, while not black they are 25.4mm which is why I got them! I'm sure they can be powder coated though - the bars are very cheap too, £23.

There are plenty of 26.0 stems out there that are nice. And also a million drop bars in 26.0.

...or can you can just tape them all the way to the stem, and cover the offending non-black.

Or you can just live with the inch or two of silver. I think it looks sharp, myself. But that's just me. And I don't really worry so much about keeping up appearances. But that's just me.

+1 that's how I had to go and ended up with the Nitto Noodle bars and I really like them.
