Help help help. I have bought an FSA gossamer triple road crank from fleabay. It takes an octalink bottom bracket. My query is, does anyone know if FSA cranks take octalink v1 (short spline, dura-ace, ultegtra, 105, xtr) or octalink v2 (deore, lx, sora etc). The internet has thus far let me down....
Has anyone got one who can tell me?
Pleas help me out here, otherwise my crank will be an expensive mistake...
Just get one of their MegaExo BB's. Had you bought new it would have come with it :P

Have a look at this link from Sheldon, http://sheldonbrown.com/gloss_n-o.html#octalink
The difference is great enough that you should be able to decide by sight.

I had an ultegra octalink bottom bracket and replaced the ultegra crank with the FSA Gossamer crank. Works perfect, just drop the deralleur as far as it will go.

Does it really take an Octalink or an ISIS bb? I thought only Shimano and a couple of licensees used the Octalink and I didn't think FSA was one of them.

Ritchey,Adventure Components,FSA,Control Tech and couple other I can't remember.
FSA made custom Octalink bottom brackets for Santana Tandems
Hey Hillrider. Do the research. FSA made the octalink gossamer crank. Don't know if they still make it now that most are using the exo bottom brackets.
