At the moment I have a 6 year old Gyno GT bike and as much as I love it, the quality is for ****. I really need a new bike and I'm doing all I can to save up money, selling my little kid stuff, trying to find little jobs, and eventually sell the GT. Anyway, I'm looking to save up about a max of about $400. I have looked up a bunch about what new bike I should get. I'm looking to buy a bike that is mostly made for dirt but can also to street fairly well. I'm about 5' 7"-8". Since my last bike I didn't really start riding till about a month ago, I'm fairly new to BMX to any tips would be great.

alright, first rule: get it off Dans. Danscomp always is the best choice for ordering. anywhere. so for 400 bucks, you probably want a DK or possibly a WTP if you can. here are some links to ones around that price

here are the standard DK bikes: the Helio (mentioned by the other guy), and the 4-pak (their standard ride)

WeThePeople are incredible bikes, even their entry level ones. they last forever and handle sweet.

Hoffman also has decent bikes around 400, but they usually have undesirable Hi-Ten frames.

FIT have a great reputation. they are strong, fast bikes, if a little overpriced. the TRL series is best, even if you only ride street and park.

one last thing, do NOT buy Eastern. they use cheap metal and the frames break if a pebble hits them.
