My friend wants to try out my Allez Elite 08 (http://www.custompublish.com/getfile.php/542620.679.xrdfuwqyqb/08_Allez_Elite.jpg?force=1&return=www.specialized.no), but I am concerned that his weight may damage the frame, what do you think?

Thanks

How much does your friend weigh?

I can tell you that I weigh 278 and ride a 08 Spec. Allez Elite Comp... hasn't broken yet.

My first guess is it would be fine, especially if he takes it easy riding it and in an area with good pavement. But, without knowing his weight range this is a guess.

It says so in the subject line ;) 18.5 stone == 259 lbs, according to Google.

V Cool cheers, he's 260. Are you using the stock wheels or did you get some better ones?

Ah, so that's what that meant! I'm not familiar with that unit of measurement, thanks for the clarification.

I'm using the stock wheels. I get them re-tensioned/trued every 300 miles or so. The roads around here aren't the best and there are plenty of cracks and pot holes to avoid. I would like to get some of the Deep V's everyone raves about, but that probably won't happen until I taco these wheels and I'm forced to get them.

My kitchen pass ran out when I got this bike... so I have to use what I've got until it breaks
