Thanx I didn't notice it was a front rack bag.

Seems rather useless in touring IMO.

I would get a handlebar bag and not a front rack with panniers
Or two I would get a front rack with panniers.

But I can't imagine needing both.

FWIW, I've done several tours with a mini front rack and this style handelbar bag and prefer it to a regular handlebar bag.

I find that with bags such as these where the brunt of the weight is supported by the small rack, seems to have less ill effects on steering.

Typically, the front racks that these are used with are small and are not meant for panniers, so there is no huge weight penalty.

I've got a mini front rack (Nitto M-12) but would be more inclined to use something like the Lil' Loafer bags sold by Rivendell. I just can't get over the idea of putting a bunch of weight on the front end. If doing loaded touring, it seems like a low-rider front rack and panniers would distribute weight better.

This is exactly the kind of setup I have been looking for although I have never used a front rack before. Thanks for the great review of the bag. What kind of front rack are you using?

What kind of front rack are you using? obvously not Xcapkey, but it looks like the Nitto (http://www.rivbike.com/products/list/bags_and_racks?a=1&page=all#product=20-108) that Rivendell calls "Mark's Rack"

Thanks for the info. They are a little out of my budget at present but look like what I want.
