Hit that thing with alcohol - STAT!!!

If your brake pads came in contact with that rotor, you might be needing new pads. I'm not sure they can be reconditioned at this point.

I'm not exactly clear on what U did, but at most, it should only cost U about $20 to get new pads & a bleed job @ your LBS. That's what mine charges anyway..... Curious as 2 what type discs U have. Hydraulic or mechanical. My Hayes HFX-9 8" uses DOT 3 or 4, where as my Magura hydraulics use DTE Lite. Any "smidgen" (yes, I'm a HillBilly) of the brake fluid onto the pads will render them useless....

To be honest there are a lot of fixes that may or may not work. But in this case I would change the pads and go get some rotor cleaner from a motorbike shop and clean those rotors down (if you tried braking with them already there is a small chance you baked the oil into the rotor, which imo, means replacing them too.

My comment is simple...don't do it again...

Yea.. I'd scrub the hell outta the discs with rubbing alky or a specialized cleaner for discs.. maybe boil them... the pads are most likely shot to hell now.

If I might ask, why in the name of all things good in the world did you decide to oil a rotor? 0_0

Rub your rotor with White Spirits. This is a grease/oil dissolver. You can try it on your pads but it only works with some, you may need new ones if it doesnt work.

Boil the rotor, clean it, do everything these guys above have said. If they are still stuffed, try this only as a LAST RESORT. Rub the rotors with sandpaper, but not too much. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway, what were you thinking when you oiled your discs.

because i got back from a muddy ride and washed my bike down. so im like hmmmm lets lube the brakes...thought it would basically make smoother stopping power. and the next time i got on the bike, i hated myself.

Dont do anything that anybody has said so far. Get a blowtorch, and torch the pads and burn the stuff off the rotor. Thats the only way your going to get your power back.
