General Cycling Discussion - Anyone live in Livermore, CA?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I went there for golfing before.. but never been to their downtown area. Anyone from there? Looking for some places over there to do some riding.. perhaps even in their downtown area? is that place pretty quiet and nice.. or is it hopping??

I don't live there and never have, but I used to ride my bike there a lot. The downtown sucks, but if you head east the hills are pretty good, I think it is the road that goes past Poppy Ridge Golf Course but it keeps going all the way to Tracy a nice climb up the hill and not a lot of traffic.
I used to live in Pleasanton and think the riding there was much better.
If you are a member of the Nor. Cal. Golf Assn. you should get out and play Poppy Ridge, what a nice course. I used to play there a couple times every month. A little slow but a good workout and excellent condition.
Altamont Pass Rd., Patterson Pass Rd, and Tesla Rd. heading east from Livermore will take you up into the hills east of Livermore. Carroll/N. Flynn/S. Flynn connecct Patterson Pass and Altamont Pass Rds. Cross Rd. connects Patterson Pass and Tesla Rd. Greenville Rd. runs north/south and connects Tesla, Patterson Pass, and Altamont Pass Rds. on the west side of the hills (east of Livermore). I don't know how to connect the dots on the eastern (Tracy) side of the hills. Also, you can take Mines Rd. south from Livermore. It's lightly trafficked and will take you to San Antonio Rd and up to the top of Mt. Hamilton, if you are so inclined.
