Hi All,
Eldo starts next Tueday, March 3rd. Official information is available here (http://www.californiabicycleracing.org/).
Unfortunately, I'll be missing the first week as I'll be on the east coast on business. :(

I'd love to. But can't you get it moved up into the Valley? Too far south and during rush hour. Le sucks!
Guess I'll just have to stick with the Rose Bowl.

Yeah, been there, done that. You are screwed if you don't get on the 5 by 3:30pm.
I'll be doing my team's local Tuesday training ride instead of Eldo; I can't get away early enough.
Let's hope everyone keeps there fingers and toes intact this year. Have fun!
HI,
Did anyone do Eldo this past Tuesday? I know that it was pretty early start for anyone who works.

I was there, but missed the race. Got there 10min too late. I'll be there next week.
Hello,
Made to Eldo this past week. Rode Masters (as usual). I guess it was faster than the previous week -- at least relatively speaking -- because the 4/5 pack didn't quite catch us. I was kind of cooked from a long ride (for me) on Monday so I never saw the front.
I didn't see any crashes though that doesn't mean that everyone stayed upright. Was a little disappointed with how some were riding in the Masters. I'll be there again next Tuesday.
Anyone else enjoy the 5:00 pm start time?
Hi,
Did everyone stay upright this week? I didn't see any crashes. My teammate almost crashed but managed to stay upright.

I'm pretty sure we made it through the night crash-free. The 4/5's actually did catch the Masters. Going neutral for 2 laps before a completely botched sprint is the same as catching in my book.
We're going to take up a collection to have Thurlow come and drive the front end of that pack. It doesn't surprise me that there is some dodgy riding going on....it's too slow. Fast is safe.

Hi,
I've not been riding well the past two weeks so I have not been able to contribute to the pace of the Masters. Interestingly, our average has been just below 25 MPH which is on the slow side for our race, but even at that pace the 4/5 pack does not usually catch us.
I guess the 4/5s are riding faster these days.

The last two weeks have been battered with rough wind conditions. However, the racing has still been fast and for the most part crash-free. It was pretty fun tonight, averaged about 24mph in the 4/5's. Also, it was interesting to see the pro 1/2/3 group get broken up into about five separate groups...that almost never happens.

Hi Will,
You? You should do the 1/2/3 race. ;)
Seriously, the 1/2/3 race is generally pretty fast. My teammates who can regularly score points in the Masters just hang on when they do 1/2/3. Masters can be more fun if you like attacking a field but can be frustrating because most of the pack races negatively.
I'll be racing Masters this coming Tuesday.

thanks cleave, that's kind what i was thinking. a couple of my friends just went down to eldo on tues and did the 1/2/3 race with all the crazy wind. normally they do the 40+. if i want fast and sitting in i can do the rose bowl as usual. i need to work on attacking and hard tt/breakaway type efforts, that why i was thinking the 40+ might be good training for me.

I thought yesterday would be mellow after the long race weekend. Instead, we averaged 28.2mph chasing Tony Cruz, Bahati, Palonetti and company. Never caught them but had "fun" and a good workout trying. This was the fastest Edlo of the year that I've done so far.

28 mph, is it all? Haha. When I heard Bahati was there and saw Cruz, I knew it was going to be a long day for you guys. I was hoping the 4/5s would have a mellow night, but like last few weeks it was pretty quick. We didnt get caught by the Masters for few weeks now. Luckily my legs felt ok. Maybe I should have done those repeats around the VIsta Ridge after all. We had a crash this week, which I dont recall having one in the 4/5s this year.

Hello 1265 Lombardi,
We didn't catch you because some of us were blocking for the break in the Masters race. ;)
Our race started out pretty fast with several attacks, including a couple by me. The Pro/1/2/3 pack caught us relatively early and the break that worked went off the front right after that. Since I had a teammate up the road and Velocity had a couple of guys in there too, we settled the pace down to just about 25 MPH for the remainder of the race.
