I took my newly built up Raleigh Team Pro out for a 30 mile jaunt this morning and hit 48mph on my favorite decent. The bike tracked like it was on a high speed rail. The cassette will have to be changed to something like an 11-27 or 28 ---- if Campy offers a critter with that kind of range. The 13-26 just didn't do it for me. All in all a good day, even with the head wind. Lp

Every day! About 15 mile commute to work and back.

I'm planning on heading out tomorrow morning for a long one...

It's gorgeous in Seattle, today.

Rode today, rode yesterday, rode the day before that and the day before that, and the day before...well you get the idea.

The weather in Phoenix doesn't suck at this time of the year.

Commute every day, got in 50km yesterday (out to Darmstadt and back from Frankfurt) on the TT machine.
It was the first time the sun has been out here for what seemed like months, and there were loads of guys out.
I had one of the Darmstadt club guys in my slipstream for about 10km too. He got a free ride, I was hammering it into a head wind!

Nope… I’ve had a head cold so bad the last three days; I believe the Devil himself would feel sorry for me. Between the way my head cold is going, and the weather is turning: I may make it out for a ride sometime in mid March… :(

45 mins of riding, moderate temps, no wind. In other words, on rollers.

I rode yesterday morning: 36 degrees at the start and 39 two hours later. Only my feet were cold. And the multi-use path I intended to ride on for part of the way was still covered in ice and snow. And then I did my usual 7 mile roundtrip bike commute (plus another couple of miles to run an errand). Today, it's actually in the 50s here, but I was stuck in the car, needing to head out to western MA to do some library research.

Yes as a matter of fact I did.

I took the Schwinn Sportabout in to switch out the drops for a more upright style. It is absolutely perfect cycling weather here in LA right now...

Yeah, I rode my Alan about .5 miles to take some pics of it, I rode my Miyata about .1 miles to make sure it still was adjusted and ridable, and I rode my Motobecane about .25 miles to make sure my new DT shifters were set up correctly :) It was a long tiring day...

Yes, but not my C&V. Rode the CF race bike to work so I could do intervals at lunch time. I don't need a power meter to know I suck. :-(

Me and my Trek 400 did a 30 miles loop at Interurban and Greenriver trail. Beautiful day in Seattle, a bit cold but sunny. Passed 2 hipsters, and only got pass by one guy. Overall was a great ride.

Rode my ice bike to work this morning. 7 miles. Temps about 21F, 15 mph wind, nice headwind. Then back home this evening. Another 7 miles and the wind had changed around so I had another headwind.

Yep. 5 bikes.

Shakedown cruise on 2003 Marin Portofino build with new Mirage triple group. 6 miles, to include one good descent, one good ascent. Plenty of balmy wind before the storm. Bike rides and looks great, but suffered in comparison to the rest of the day. Chorus Ergos = great.

Six more hard miles, same route, on Shimano 600 Ironman Carbon (credit to Spinz for the find), pretty fast, pretty smooth with the STI's. I'll need to adjust the FD to stay on the big ring.

Same route, this time on Chorus Ironman Carbon. Though heavier with the polished Vento wheel set, this bike just rides better. Perhaps more energy stored in the heavier rims or something. Again, the Chorus Ergos = great.

Another lap, this time on a 2003 Trek 2000 SLR I built overnight last weekend, Shimano 105 Flight Deck 9-sp. Nice bike, nice ride, modern and BORING. Doesn't climb as well as the first three.

Last lap, Ti bike to try out the used (500 mile) Mavic Ksyrium Elites that came with new Pro Race tires. Lightest bike I've ever ridden. Didn't like the tires, went back out with 115psi in lieu of 100psi, made a big difference. Better tightrope feeling.

Tomorrow? I'm tuning up a Fuji Team Carbon and will definitely see if I can give it a workout.

Rode 11.8 miles today. Planning on hitting the Dry Creek Trail tomorrow, and riding around town a bit. Should get in at least 19-20 miles tomorrow. Might do it again on Sunday. I need to start getting serious with training for bike camping, and short-distance touring ....

I thought about it, and man was it pretty out. I just didn't have it in me. I spent the day with my gf cooped up in the house instead, not that I'm complaining.

hi abarth, i rode from meeker(puyallup) to wilkeson and back (via the foothills trail & carbon river road to south prairie & lower burnett rd) a bit cool- even some snow in the shaded areas but a very nice day-even wore my sunglasses. no speed records were broken.

I rode about 15ish and almost got hit by a car three times.

1) Decided to stop and double park right in front of me.
2) Taxi crossed traffic right in front of me
3) Van almost right hooks me.

That was enough, plus, it started raining shortly after incident #3, so I went home.

The Foothills Trail is one of my favorite local trail. My son loves the animals near the trail and sometime we get to see horses on the trail. When towing my son in the trailer, the long and slight incline gives me a great work out. Is the damaged part of the trail reopen yet?

Yep, spring has "arrived"! The temp has risen to incredible +4 Celsius. Roads are snowfree and I´ve done my longest sprint this winter; 45 km. Nuts, toes and fingers go a bit numb, though. I´ve been training all through winter; -5 Celsius is my limit.

Nope, and I am getting rider withdrawal. ;)
I'm not currently at home, where it's 90F this week! I'm in miserable Boston, where it's slightly above freezing. Can't ride anyhow, all my bikes are 3000 miles away. :(

I rode again today in "miserable Boston"! I'm not sure of the mileage, but a boddy and I were out for three hours mostly on trails through local woods. We were both on bikes with snow tires as the trails were icy, snowy, muddy, all that at once. It was great fun.

42 mi. today- beautiful day

Same here, exceeding my age in kilometers. Up the coast from home, then out to the end of the San Luis Rey bikeway, then back. Today I rode Capo #1, the perfect bike for a longish ride with easy hills, some crosswinds (fortunately mild), and occasional sections of rough pavement. On Wednesday I did 25 mi / 40 km on the Bianchi, which is a great climber. These fine old classics are meant to be ridden. :)

After reading all of these posts, I *had* to go out today in spite of the -4C temps. It was sunny though, and dry. Wind was biting! Took 1 short loop on the Peugeot, then another on the Trek.

Thanks all for getting me going! Can't wait for spring.

Nope, it's just below zero here with the wind and my fragile CA/AZ skin can't handle those kinds of temps. I did order the tubes/tires and bar tape for my Trek 300 this morning though, so at least I will soon be doing bike-related things.

+1, timed/scored a 5K in Greenville, soaked to the skin.
Was gonna run the Crystal Coast Half-Marathon for a good long workout, but 30mph winds and rain, yeah, right.

Rode 23 miles today, around downtown, on Dry Creek Trail, and around our neighborhood. Plan on doing it again tomorrow. Would like to make it 25 miles. Next weekend I'm shooting for 30 miles on Saturday.

I rode the trainer today...

Not that it was too cold out, but I had to do some reading for work while I was 'riding'.

I did get out two days ago, however. I've started to enjoy the winter riding. (My first season at it...)

Kommisar89
03-01-09, 03:44 PM
Yes, again, and OMG! am I out of shape. My only riding this winter has been my commute to work but today it was 60 degrees and very pleasant out so I took the Bottecchia out for a 10-mile spin. Actually I was aiming for 25 but I forgot my wallent and phone and realized it at the 5 miles mark so I turned back and by the time I reached home I was feeling like I wanted to bonk so I cut it short. Ugh! I'm drinking a glass mead right now to replenish my carbs :innocent:

My nickname comes from the old Velonews cartoon, 'Old guys who drink stout and get fat in the Winter'.

Still too cold in MN, but I peeled off the original bar tape from my new-to-me Trek, and it turns out it used to be black (it had faded into a nice shade of grey)! Gotta get some goo gone to get rid of that 25 year old adhesive tomorrow. I might get something to clear off the surface rust spots on the dings on the paint while I'm at the hardware store, and cover them up with my clear nail polish.

Oh, winter projects.

In March.
