I don't know where to post this so I am posting it here and in a few other forums as someone may know what the heck it is. I bought this off C-List just because it looked strange, the guy I bought it from told me he found it in the trash and only picked it out of the trash because it had Campy bits on it, any help would be great.

Looks like an old TT or Triathlon frame that's been beat to hell. I'd be very concerned about hidden damage/weak spots (Composite delamination) since it looks so roughly used. Can't say who made it, though.

hmmm definitely an odd one, id agree with the tt due to the aero tubing on it. really odd that theres no seat tube....id be careful riding it. c&v might have more to say on this, you may want to post it over there too
that looks homemade....by a 4 year old....i wouldnt ride it..
fackin whaaaaaa...
might clean up nice as a mantle piece or museum facet.
if you dont mind my asking, how much did you pay?

That'd make for one rad bike. Build it up :P

$50. Please don't tell me you spent $600 dollars or something on this frame? If you did, I feel for you man.

It looks really cool. Don't let the tongue-clucking naysayers give you a hard time, you don't owe them any answers about what you paid. If they think it's too much just assume you make a ****load more money than they do, or that you care a lot more about bikes. ;)

How heavy is it? Pop some 700c wheels on there, that might jog someone's memory because, right now, it looks like Barbapoppa.

looks like a woodshop project. what's with all the rear triangle going so far past the dropouts?
I love strange bikes, but I couldn't see myself spending more than 30 for it, maybe 50
what is it made of? doesn't look like CF, looks like lumpy fiberglass. it doesn't even look symmetrical in the rear. looks heavy too...
hope it turns out great

Wow, that thing looks like some kind of Mech warrior. Is it fun to ride or clunky and awkward. This frame seems like it's long lost lover.

yea i was gonna buy that frame from the kid too. He said he would take 50 for it. Obviously I didnt buy it. I prefer a frame that at least looks solid. Id just put it on the wall and not risk your life riding it.

Ding, ding, ding! We've got a winner! :)
I did a bit of research and got the scoop on the frame, I contacted the seller (wasnt easy) and he told me that he's an engineering student over at Drexel, he found the complete bike in the dumpster at the engineering dept at Drexel U when he first started there, he mentioned that it must have been a class project or even an entry to a contest of some sort, he has a set of tubulars that were on it and all the Campy goodies. So there you have it, more than likely built by student engineers over at Drexel. So all you guys that mentioned that the frame looks "homemade" you were partially right, as for structural integrity? I guess that depends on how well the students paid attention in class! Thanks all for the replies. :thumb:

Here are a few before and after pics of the drops and front derailleur hanger, they are Campy, Im going to clean it up, get some body work and paint done, then build it up as a single speed artsy wall hanger.

didnt you just do this same thread? uhhh what color are you painting it and if its gonna be wall art i would suggest some bondo and makeing some awesomely excessive aero fins on it. or some of those fins that the cadilacs had in the 50's
merge it with the original thread?

I didnt think it would bother anyone if I started a new thread about the progress of the frame, Im going to have it painted yellow, but there are no "excessive aero fins" in the future of this frame ;)
EDIT: I contacted the mods to see what they could do about merging this post with the other, but if they're cool with the new thread well then so am I. :thumb:
