I've been thinking about buying / building a Surly Pacer. Anyone out there use one...how do you like it?

I've been thinking about buying / building a Surly Pacer. Anyone out there use one...how do you like it?
I've a friend who has 2 Surly's. A Steamroller and a Crosscheck.
He loves them both.
Surly's are a good non-nonsense steel frame for the price.
And if you end up not liking the bike, they're cheap enough for you to wanna buy another bike!:D
