Great Lakes - Who's racing when?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm getting desperate here to get back out there myself, but I'd settle for coming to see you all ride.:)

April. I can't believe that I still have another month and a half until I can race. This sucks.

Technically there's races starting March 14th on. Just about every weekend has one from there.

except I'm not all that ready. I've been slacking off a bit with my training over the last three weeks. I hope I didn't blow it.

That is possibly the worst race poster I've ever seen.
It looks like they took a sub-par picture, and bukkake'd it with cut-out pictures from MS Paint.
Its not an official race poster...

I can't stop laughing. Looks like those dudes are jumping over that guy on the ground. And blowing their nose on him. lolz0rs.
But anyway, that's my first real race of the year. Im already registered. I suppose I should get a license soon.

That poster is a pretty realistic description of the racing experience. Mine anyway, sans victory salutes.

Okay, try again. :) I don't want to use anyone elses' work, just images I took last year at that event.
I'll try to do a different one for each race and maybe by Superweek, they'll look decent. :p

Nice posters....I personally liked the first one, John! ha Keep the info coming. We're going to need a weekend racing thread for everyone to check in once this party gets started. So many races....so much fun...and pain!

I'm just looking forward to my index finger to be solid enough to ride outside. Next weekend, weather be damned.

Duuude. I read your blog. That blows! :( However, it's good to hear that it was not much worse.
I haven't been hit on my bike by a moving vehicle (although the reverse has happened a couple times). Of course, me mentioning it now means I'm doomed the next time I'm out on the road. :twitchy:

Blackhawk Farms is my first race.
I've been working on my own trainer and have signed up for the Winter II CompuTrainer course at Village CycleSport. My biggest concern is not riding outside in a group. During my first ride outside (couple weeks ago) I was not as steady as I normally am. Too much time locked into a trainer. I need road time and time in a group.
I like the Blackhawk course for the first race since it does not have the sharp turns. Everyone is still getting used to riding outside and in a group. ARRRRRGGGG...the weather. Cold is one thing but snow, ice is another.

Two words: Rollers.
You'll still feel a little weird once you hit the road, but it won't be nearly as bad as if your only indoor riding has been on the trainer.

anyone doing the mid-ohio tim tyler race? I may do it if im available. Can't beat having zero road blemishes.

IIRC Mid-Ohio hasn't been re-paved in 2-3 years, and isn't hosting any big-money events anymore. There may be some blems.

Ok, I give up. Either you're going to post the second of the "two words" or we all start pronouncing Rollers like my cousins in Ark. and call them by two words...Roll-lers.
