Wow as if a poor bike had enough room as it was now, that is hard to imagine here.

They look like slow moving electric cars and probably travel at 15 mph tops. Those small cars are too dangerous to ride on the road with not enough speed, so now they are sent to the bike lane. We'll see if it works. Hope no one gets killed.

I'm sorry the word Car in Microcar confused me.........:twitchy:

So just to be sure I google searched Canta, came up blank for transport, as first link was to an asin band of some sort.

Searched Canta Car.......first link Radio Netherlands
Quote from their site.....(Under a picture of the mode of transport)
"The Canta: Hollandīs most popular car for disabled people"

Last I looked 4 wheels and an Enclosed body ment Car

Please explain?????:wtf:

Oh and for the record.... I am not against them by any means. The original point was to say I could not imagine that added to Ontario Bike lanes.

Seeing as they have a top speed of 45Kmh

I guess over in Europe the bikers are used to seeing things like this and adapt.

I just went over all the varying legalities with someone in Montreal who thinks trikes, wheelchairs, bike trailers should stay off paths. Seems to think the whole world is like Montreal. He would come "unglued" if people drove microcars on the sidewalk or path! Electric bikes/trikes are legal here on our 10' wide bike path but microcars are not AFAIK! 75 miles north or 40 miles south of here, no p-a is allowed.

Doesn't look like it belongs in a bike lane to me.

Seems to me bike lanes should have a speed limit and a weight limit - exceed either, and you'd be illegally using the bike lane.

Truely I can see both side of a coin, however how can that person lump in Wheelchairs with a trike? So a disability or age would have some no longer with an ability to enjoy nature, fresh air, and freedom.

Wow and I mean wow.

and now you see that the netherlands is not the cycling paradise that most of believe it to be.

Well. I think they're going to allow the little Bug-E type things on bike trails too, since they are not road safe/certified to drive in the lane. They need to stay on the side, and allow cars to pass.

I have no idea at all! Might be that some wheelchairs have motors. Confusing! My wheelchair is manual, but if someone banned me from paths; I would crawl in... and raise a stink! ;) From the velomobile pool (my velomobile has a 'hidden' motor).
