I've found this alan bike on a local ebaylike-site. Is anyone capable of determining
the components on the frame? Thanks!

I almost forgot, in the 1970's I had an Alan aluminum bicycle that kind of looked like that.

check out the relieved l/s campy crankarm. and pcad is correct. a seriously not-so-stiff frame.

pretty hard to say with any degree of certainty from the poor quality of the pics but it's a first generation(mid 70's) AlAn Record frameset with what appears to be a mix of Ofmega and Gipiemme components and Dia Compe sidepull brakes.crankset flutings are most likely painted rather than relieved. I believe the pedals are an early 80's cast bmx platform. possibly a shimano 600 rear derailleur. i'm thinking this bike was more recently pieced together.

I totally agree with caterham, it looks like a frame that was fitted out with what ever was laying around to get it going to make a sale.

The ALAN frame does look like an earlier 70's model but they were wonderful frames. ALAN frames totally dominated cyclocross racing in Europe for about 20 years and were often seen in the Tour de France. If the frame seems quite ridgid tortionally, it is still quite OK to ride. They are a comfortable ride; totally different that the stiff aluminium frames of the past decade.

It is an Italian made frame. Personally, I think they look best fitted with Italian components. The ultimate groupset would be a Campagnolo Super Record gruppo from the late 70's.

1980-ish frame - mostly campy SR except for brake levers and obviously the shimano (gasp) bar ends.
