I'll wait to see if Clifton has one of himself. I've never been without hair, I shutter at the thought of what I would look like.

I've been encouraged to shave my head, but I fear I'll be mistaken for one of the Three Stooges.

I'm in a similar boat, right now my hair is winter length, I like it shorter in the summer, but not too short.... When you still have a full head of hair at age 47, then FLAUNT IT....

When I first met my wife my hair lenght was halfway down my back. My wife just loved my long hair, but about 8 years ago I shaved it off for a bet. I haven't missed it since.

Yeah, but did you go any faster?
I've heard that if Laurent Fignon had chopped off his ponytail, he could have beaten Greg Lemond in the 1989 Tour.

HI,
Hair is over rated, I get mine trimmed every two weeks If I go military my wife hates that and I hate that longer hair all sweaty under the helmet and it take longer to dry.
So some miss their hair and others wish it would stop growing so dang fast.
Doug
psps and why does it go gray ????

I wish I knew. My hair began going gray at age 15.

Did it help you get served in bars?

I don't drink, and never have. So it was no help at all. Least of all to the HS yearbook photographer, who 'retouched' my photo.

My wife can never make up her mind, in summer I tend to get it buzzed off fairly short, not military length, but close enough, she says it's too short, in Winter I let it grow longer, and she says it's too long..... As for the gray, hair contains pigment, just like skin does, however hair will at some point, stop producing the pigment, and turns white, it appears gray because some hair is white, some still has it's original colour, so it appears gray.
When this occurs is genetic, although typically if your hair is naturally very dark or black, then it will start turning earlier, then if it's very light or blond. Some people will start turning in their teens, others can be 70 and still not have turned completely. I doubt I will ever have white hair, I'm 47 and still just a little gray at the temples, I do have a full head of hair.
There are 3 solutions to graying hair:
1) Count among your blessings that you have hair to turn gray.
2) Use toxic dyes and chemicals to put off the inevitable.
3) Shave your head.
You guys aren't posting many pics---and since I ain't even gonna think about the shirtless thread, --------

Mine is not a "no hair" pic, but I do cut it fairly short year round. At 44 I still would have a full head of hair if I let it grow. My hair grows too fast and I just got tiered of paying someone to cut it. Plus I have a ton of "cow licks" which make it hard to keep looking good. I started cutting it like this about a year ago. My wife did not like it at first, but now says she is use to it.

4) Wear it proudly, gray hair is hard earned asset:)
I like to wear hair really short, I went down to the skin first time when I was 14, but now, when I am unemployed, wife thinks I need hair to find a job - she says and other agree that I look too scary with shaved head.
But her theory is not working:(

I think whether the hair is on the top or the front of your head doesn't really make any difference, in America the economy is circling the bowl, and the manufacturing jobs that usually bootstrap a recovery have all been shipped to China, India and Mexico. :twitchy:
I always wondered why so many bald men have facial hair, I wonder if it some kind of psychological way to prove you can grow hair...:D

OK Nice Bike!! And you look good too.
I might shave my head for my June tour. Two weeks of camping and riding under a hot sun is going to produce a lot of sweat; I don't need to deal with hair as well.

So you went from looking like someone in an 80's rock tribute band to, the guy that stands outside making sure the good looking girls get in, and the not so good looking guys, don't. :D
