Bicycle Mechanics - Internal cable routing plastic insert - where to buy?

Do LBS usually stock these? Are they standardized in some way? I'd like to replace the inserts on my Felt frame. Going to go down to a few shops later and ask, but maybe before I waste my time someone here can chime in.

I actually have a second question to ask here. Maybe I am just approaching this wrong and do not actually need new inserts. I assumed that these inserts would act as brake housing stops and the cable would be threaded naked through the frame, but maybe this is wrong? I'd like to replace the inserts because they allow the cable housing to slide into the frame, making use of the rear brake impossible. Clearly I am missing something here. Does anyone have experience with this stuff?

The frame is a Felt SC1 from around 2006 I believe, similar to the F1. The internal routing in question is the rear brake and does not have a guide inside the top tube.

I know almost nothing about FELT frames in particular, but normally with internal rear brake cable routing, the housing and all go through the frame to the rear brake. In other words, the housing runs continuous from the brake lever to the rear brake caliper.

I've only seen a few where that's the case. And if so, there likely wouldn't be any insert at all.

There are three ways I've seen internal cable routing: cable stops with bare cable inside the top tube (in my experience the most common method ... also for shifter cables in the down tube), a brass tube inside the top tube (usually older steel bikes), and full cable housing run inside the top tube.

I ran a full housing and it seems to work perfectly. Not as elegant as I'd hoped, but I suppose it is lighter than a brass tube. Thanks all!

What about Trek Madones? Do they run rear brake housing all the way through the top tube?
