Does anyone know anything about this bike - good? bad? I know that 's a brand made by Fuji for Performance Bikes Stores and it's pretty affordable but not sure about the quality

I had one briefly. The build quality seemed fine, but the ride was stiff and unforgiving. It was nowhere near as nice as my steel CX bike or my old road bike that was Alu/carbon mixed. One design flaw was the front fork: it wasn't wide enough at the brakes, so the brake pads wouldn't swing wide enough to clear a moderately sized tire when it was inflated. That was a hassle.

I finally used Performance's 100% satisfaction policy and returned it.

I work at Performance. The bike seems like a solid bike. It is a full aluminum frame so like seat boy said, the ride is a little more harsh and unforgiving, but it would be more responsive than a steel bike. For the price, it is a great value.

Any other opinions on this bike? Just ordered one from Performance sight unseen, and wondering if I made the right decision. Thanks...

Scattante was originally the house brand road bike for a chain called Supergo. They were originally based in California and morphed into a group of superstores out of a more modest operation named Bikeology...

Supergo had amazing prices. They'd buy out factory runs from GT/Schwinn and others and blow the bikes out like you wouldn't believe. They also has awesome deals on everything else, too.

Unfortunately, Supergo is no more. They were swallowed up by Performance (right after P gobbled up Nashbar). The cycling world is literally a poorer place because of it. I'm not a Performance hater; I have a "Team" membership. But the deals are not nearly as good since they control a large share of the market.

I think your Scattante is probably a decent bike - and a good deal. It's just that the deal would have been better a few years ago. I hope you had a 20% off coupon when you bought your new rig...

Let us know how things work out.
