hi all, my girlfriend is thinking of buying Victory Model A09, but before she does, i am curious if anyone heard any reviews of this bike? cant seem to find reviews online. she will use it for casual around the city riding a few times a week at most. thank you all! and if anyone know any other good foldingbrands for the same price range, i would be glad to hear.

Will she be lifting/carrying this thing much? It's heavy at a (listed) 37 pounds. My Dahon at 27 pounds is about as much as I want to carry down the Metro platform and up and down escalators. Something to think about. I'd look at Downtube bikes. They weight in at about 27 pounds and you can get one for $300.

Let me ask you this...does the new bike need to have 26" wheels? The reason why I ask, is that you can find models with 20" wheels that are in that price range, and are more compact, and lighter.

If you want a bike that's probably easier for your GF to handle, and spend little money, you might want to consider a bike like the Flying Pigeon 20" folder. They are available on eBay, and with the shipping, it will cost about as much as the Victory's retail price without shipping.

However if you, or she prefers the larger wheel set (26"), then maybe the Victory is a decent purchase.

wow, $150 with shipping, thats not bad at all! is this bike durable, is it going to last a while or star braking down after a few months of use? she says she wants bigger wheels because 20" seem a little too small. as far as carrying it around, we will only be taking it down the stairs and up the stairs in our apt building, other than that, no other carrying. and yea, 37lbs is veeeeeeeeeery heavy, didn't even see it.

Then maybe she should find one to try out? Only thing 20" wheels is not so good for is riding in loose snow (3" or more) or slush.

After 2-3 times it is not going to feel like "only" anymore. I am afraid this bike is going to end up living in your flat.

Also a small bike is easyer to store than a big one.



If she is cought in rain or just decided she rode too far it is easy to take the small wheeled bike on public transport to go home that way- or taxi.
