700 is equal to 27 " tires ?
and 34 is the width ?
I want to have cyclocross tires on my vintage road bike that has 27 x 1.1/4 rims.
What is the size that it will fitt ?

700 is slightly smaller than 27" tires and rims, but 700 tubes will fit 27" tubes and vice versa because of the strechability of the tubes.

Bottom Line:
700c tires will not fit 27" rims.
27" tires will not fit 700c rims.

27 X 1 3/8 I saw some 25 yrs ago, but you will have trouble finding them now. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/tires/630.html

You can still find 27" tires but most tend to be low end gumball road tires. I know Michelin, Continental and Specialized all still make decent 27"ers. Finding cyclocross/knobby type tires in 27" may be a problem though.

these look pretty sweet, and are cheap:

the tread sort of looks like over kill though.

might be better off going with a rim swap though

might be better off going with a rim swap though
but then you could potentially run into your brakes not reaching far enough.

i just remembered these tires as well:

wouldn't you just multiply 1.25 by 25.4 to get the mm equivelant?
