Northern California - Saturday March 7, a couple of hills...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Since there is a NorCal ride on Sunday (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=511922) that my wife and I are planning to attend, I thought I'd plan a couple of hills for Saturday to get some climbing in as Sunday's ride is pretty flat.

For those of you that went on the Cothrin Ranch ride today, this was going to be the way to the meeting area instead.

Here's the ride profile:

It's about 45 miles and 2400 feet. You're not imagining that spike. There really is an 18% grade. Thankfully, it's short.

I don't plan to ride this fast, just take it easy (well, as easy as a ride like this can be taken). There are some real fast fun sections to make up for the sufferfest in the middle.

I figure to leave home at 9am. So I think ride meeting will be near here. Anyone want to come along? If there is interest, we could leave at 10am instead and stop for lunch at Karen's Bakery in Folsom. That's a real treat if you haven't been.

Excellent Matt. I think you'll like this one. Probably easiest to just meet at my place. Or if you're going to ride up the ARBT, I can meet you at Hagan Park where the path goes by. About mile marker 15.5.

I'll drive to your house.

Can you PM me your address? I don't have it anymore.

What time? In other words, are you interested in lunch at Karen's?

Let's watch the weather as Saturday gets closer (or we get opinion from others who will ride). Our previously sunny Saturday is showing showers now. I'm partial to 9 so I can get home earlier, but if it's really cold or the weather will work better with a 10 AM start, that's cool.

Nice. I hope it holds; I'm looking forward to doing the Capay Valley ride Sunday too.

Have fun guys. I have a track meet that I have to officiate. Most of my Saturdays are out until early June. Just have to ride during the weekdays.
