Thanks. I know I'm posting this a lot, but I can't resist posting stuff as I get it built, the muse really seems to be speaking via this instrument plus the forum is really helping keeping this project on the straight and narrow. Tonight, my wife told me that before I can ride it, I have to get down to 175 pounds otherwise I'll spoil the picture. Not a huge stretch, 10 pounds or so, but I took her up on it.

We'll come after you with photo demands if you don't. I've been following every single post about this build so far - have enjoyed every minute of it.

If you don't mind my asking - how much did the headbadge cost?

Under the "snooze, you lose" category, I saw that a bunch of these were sold on ebay last spring for around 20-25 dollars. However, I didn't see this until after the various auctions had ended, but I contacted the seller, he said he had some more, would sell them for 20 bux. Unfortunately, I didn't act on it then, but finally did a couple of months ago. Nice guy, proprietor of Pace Bicycle Haven in Missouri, I believe. At this point, he said he wasn't sure he had any more, but then got back to me, said he had two left and would part w/one for $40. I didn't begrudge that, knowing how it is w/dwindling stock, and purchased one. I still have the old headbadge devoid of paint, I may ebay it away or just keep it for old time's sake.

Could someone show me where this bike has been posted before? Kurt said he was following it, but this is the first time I've ever seen this bike and I'm afraid I've fallen in love.

Thanks for the response. I got a NOS one off of eBay about a year ago - last spring. :) The fellow had a very reasonable BIN, and more than one. I had been searching for a couple of years so I almost bought two, but remembered my how long my search was and decided to leave it for another enthusiast to grab.

Sounds like the same guy.

I've initiated a couple threads as I've progressed with this project, but here is one (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=513731&highlight=mondia).
