Just a quick note to clarify that bringing your own crew is not required. You can ride solo and use the neutral support along the route.

Some advice would help. I'm relatively new to cycling and tend to bite off more than I can chew. Would I be crazy to think that I could train to enter and complete (not in first obviously but just complete) this if I'm currently riding 50 miles a week (obviously this is going to have to increase and fast) with an avg speed of 15mph?
Thanks in advance. If not this next year I'll be sure to be ready for next year.

50 miles a week is a bit on the low-end...
but if you could ramp up the training during April to 100-150 miles per week, you'd probably do well. I wouldn't recommend trying to ride 200 miles in a day unless you've done at least one century. But you could certainly do a relay team, which is tons of fun!

Congratulations to Mark Larsen of St. George, Utah who won the day in 11 hours 8 minutes. Just five minutes back were three racers from Mesa, AZ - Candon Sevey, Wayne Smith and Robert Verhaaren (who just might be members of this forum).
We were a little late in the game getting the word about this event out for 2009. We expect the 2010 race to be a huge success!
