I'm a heavy guy and I've had a hard time finding shorts (non-lycra) to fit. I need at the very least an XL and would prefer XXL. Now I know of one site that sells larger sizes but my real issue here is what each manufacturer considers S, M, L, XL, etc.

Looking at men's shorts on Performance Bike's website, here's various manufacturers version of XL: Insport (40-42), Hind (38-40), Pearl Izumi (39), and Louis Garneau (38). Huh???

And even within one manufacturer you can get a difference. Zoic's Tam 9" Cycle Shorts lists the XL as 40-44 but the Zoic Calavares Short the XL is 36-69. WHAT? Same company -- 2 different XL sizes. That makes a lot of sense!

How can someone find the right clothes when there's absolutely no consistency?

Sorry but I needed to vent.
