I bought a Brooks on ebay. When I opened it I realized it was a ladies B17. I did not want a ladies since I am not one. Is there a big difference in size? I was thinking I would keep it, their website shows nothing!

Found it. The diff is 3.5 cm. do you think that would be a big deal?

If it fits for you no one will ever know and your manhood won't shrivel, we swear :)

The difference is that the lady's saddle is shorter than the men's saddle for some unknown reason. I'm a woman and when I found that out I chose the men's saddle.

Why is a longer saddle better?

I BELIEVE the ladies' saddle is also wider. Could be wrong.

If the shoe fits, wear it. I have Fizik Vitesse saddles on all of my bikes, and it is the most comfortable saddle I have ever used including Brooks. For some reason they market it as a women's saddle in the US but "unisex" in Europe. Whatever. It works for me.

If it was not advertised as a women's saddle, and you have doubts, do check with the seller about returning it. What is the Brooks number for a women's B-17? B-17s? It may cost a little more now to end up with what you want, but later you will thank yourself.

if it's the same width, don't worry about it, the nose is only there for tensioning the saddle

The only thing that matters is: are you comfortable on it? I think it will be fine.

What do you weigh? As their may be some integrity differences as well. If the physicals are different, the saddle is different.

How wide you need also depend on ridingstyle. If you sit on your bum when riding you need a wide one. I just bought a B72 for an upright ridingstyle bike. It is sold as a unisex seat, and is much wider than a B17.

I think the short nose is so that the dress (especially a thighter one) is "hanging" on the nose of the saddle. I am a woman and personally I like long nosed saddles best. Think it is becouse I think it is easyer to avoid sliding around on the seat.

I think personal preferance, ridingstyle and ridingposition is more important than what somebody decided to call it.
