I used sheldon brown's spoke calc for IRO high flanges to Deep V's. It said 278mm for both front and back.

I called ben's cycle and they said it should be 282mm, and that my calculations were wrong.

How off can I be when buying spokes?

You can be a few mm too long for Deep Vs, but not 4mm. Ben's does the same combination probably every day so I'd probably trust what they say over the spoke spreadsheet.

I got 281mm for my Deep-Vs to IRO high flanges, 32 hole 3 cross. Worked great.

Thanks.

Yea:

-36 hole Velocity Deep V
-High flange IRO hub (formula)
-3x lacing front and rear

I think I'm going to do 280 and take my chances

according to that spreadsheet, it's 282 for 32 spokes, 278 for 36 spokes.

Oh. The guy at Ben's might have thought I said 32. Thanks!
