When I click on "View New Posts," I am taken to a listing of 109 threads on five pages. The first page works fine, and lists todays most recent posts, but when I try to go to page two, it changes to only 63 threads on three pages (all of which are from two days ago too!). What gives?
This isn't really a problem, as such, and it's not that much of a bother, but I thought I would whine about it just the same.
Thanks.

I want to whine too!:)
How about a "View New Posts" button at the bottom of the page as well as the top so that we don't have to scroll back to the top of the page each time when we are done reading a thread.

Strange - works exactly as it is supposed to for me???????
Works by me as well. Weird.

Hmm, are you click on the "view new posts" button or the "view todays posts" button? The "view todays posts" is for unregistered, or logged out users, this will show all posts in the last 24hrs. The "view new posts" is for logged in users on the .net site, this will only show new posts from your last visit.

It's always been the "View New Posts" button, and I've always been logged in. Odd.
Well, as I said before, it wasn't really a big problem and it didn't really bother me. I was just curious.
Besides, ignoring it seems to have made it go away! :)

Dammit! It's happening again.
"View New Posts" takes me to seven pages of new posts, but I can only view one of those pages, because when I click to go to another page, the seven pages of new posts turn into three pages of posts from three days ago.
As with last time, it doesn't bother me that much, but it is still just a little bit agrivating. Besides, I'm not one to pass up an opportunity to whine.
I'm sure it will 'correct' itself again if I ignore it for a while.

Apparently the time is now 10:47 pm, last night. Funny, cause the sun has usually gone down by this time of night, even in the summer time. I could have sworn it was just after 5 pm, today. Hmm. Live and learn, I guess.
Interestingly though, while the "View New Posts" button, warped as it is, still gives me a page worth of today's (Tuesday's) posts before going loco on me, all of the topic listings on the main page only list posts up to and including but not later than 10:47 last night (Monday). Even when I personally post something, if fails to show up. What gives?
Could it be that I have fallen into some sort of personal time warp? Like it's still today for the rest of the world, but it's yesterday again just for me? That would almost make sense, cause if I was in yesterday, when I post something right now (in today), I wouldn't see it because I'm still in yesterday, right? Does that mean that my posts will show up tomorrow (today)?
How very odd.

I've run into that also. If you don't have any activity for a bit, the forum logs you out. Two ways to tell when that has happened are (1) You try to reply to a post and the system says you aren't logged in, or (2) The clock returns to GMT
I don't know if it's designed that way to keep as many "slots" open as possible, or if it's just a glitch in the programming., but it's been that way for quite a while (even before the server change).

If you goto the main index page, are you logged out? If your logged out, you will see all posts in the last 24hrs, and the time will be GMT. This sounds like the problem, i'll look into the problem.

Nope, I was logged in the whole time. Actually, I never log out; I just close the window.
It occured to me last night that this might have been part of the problem, so I logged out. When I came back, the time thing was fixed, but the "View New Posts" was still screwey. I decided not to push my luck and left well enough alone. Everything seems to work just fine now, so I plan on going back to ignoring it again.
There is a saying in the theatre, "If it works, don't talk about it." I think that applies here. It does until it stops working again, at least.

The time is now 10:53 pm.
The date is February 4. Somehow I think February 2 would be more appropriate.
I hate my computer.
(Joe - maybe you should move this to the Rants section, since it's basically been reduced to a personal b*tching thread :))

I was wondering when that was going to happen.
