I saw that.. looks pretty crazy.

I will not be doing that one.

2-weeks before the wedding, and too0 close to other events/races/etc...

I think it's already close to sold out! If you want to do it, reserve a spot now.

I was thinking of doing this, but I'll settle for the Death Ride.:innocent:

Does this count as 2 doubles on the triple crown credit? :p

Perhaps next year :-)

Yeah, my calender is too full to fit this one in, plus I'll be doing the DR anyway. The Triple Crown stage race is my big challenge for 2009.

Hey Ryan, what's the story behind your new avatar? Some kind of warning to properly tighten your front wheel quick release?

I thought it was a funny sign, and a little personal experience perhaps :o

(By the way, my crash was due to a poorly adjusted locknut on some old single pivot brakes. The brakes have been replaced but I still ride that bike in crappy weather... like today)

This route sounds like it'd be difficult even with an engine. A large one.

Absolutely not for Tough Guys Only! ;)

It isn't sold out or closed yet. Registration hasn't even been launched yet but if you can set aside doing your hair, nails or washing your tandem :) then you can reserve a spot for when registration opens. Currently the Ride Director is working through some bizarre obstacles that CalTrans has put up that no other ride is required to do.

The Triple Crown Double is only one part of the event. The heart of the event is the 1-6 pass "Build Your Own" ride where riders design their own 1-6 pass ride and the Kid Carson family ride too. A person could design their own ride to be like the original Death Ride that included Kingsbury Grade.

Yowza. Death ride on crack. Although they give you 21 hours to finish it; I finished the DR in a leisurely 13 hours -- even on that pace you can probably finish this one!

Doing the DR again this year, hopefully much faster. Maybe I'll try this ride in 2010 :)
