Charity Events - Riding for those with diabetes - need some help

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

As I learn more about diabetes, I knew I had to get involved. I've set a huge goal for the DC Tour de Cure and now need some support (and ideas) for fund raising.

If you're going to be in the DC area 14 June come ride with us.

If you can help me with a donation, please see my page at: http://main.diabetes.org/goto/NCMoon

If you have any suggestions for ways to raise funds for this cause, please let me know!

Thanks so much for the help, and thanks to everyone who is out there raising funds for some incredibly important organizations!!

I've set up a folding table with a 'donation jug' and some ADA educational liturature outside a grocery store, W**mart, K**rt, etc (with manager's permission.) I get on my bike (on the trainer) wearing my Tour de Cure rider in training T-shirt, pedal for a few hours and ask for donations. It is a great way to call attention to the cause, raise money, and get in a good workout.
