Foo - Woohoo! New bike hauler ordered!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Decided the motorcycle just wasn't cutting it since I can't strap a kids seat onto the back and even if I could, I'm still one seat short for a fun wind in your hair jaunt. So, it's up for sale and I just ordered a Jeep Wrangler today!

Wranglers rock. They are a true off-road vehicle, not just a station wagon with a slighly higher clearance.

How much off MSRP did you get it for?
Looks good!

A lot. Better than the Employee Pricing deal, even.
Cool. So you got rid of the Harley?
It's up for sale. I was having trouble finding the "Latch" system for my daughter's car seat! :D
With about 9000 soldiers here in COS fresh back from the desert, I think it'll go pretty fast.

Can you back out of the deal?
Probably, but why would I want to?

I am going to tell you now, Wranglers are more addictive than crack.
I got rid of my '01 and bought a certified '06 Unlimited December 30th because I needed the extra room. In the last 2 months the projects have included a lift, rock sliders and rails, armor, new custom bumpers being designed, 33 inch tires and wheels on order, light bar for the front, light mount brackets for the windshield hinge, winch, stereo, and various other bits that go along with it like shocks and steering damper. This is the one that is going to stay mild. They are not kidding when they say Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket.
Welcome to the club, don't forget to wave. :thumb:

Maybe this (http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Jeep_Wrangler/Reliability/)?:
Reliability
The 2009 Jeep Wrangler reliability score of 4.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Bah - I'm not worried about studies like that, that's what warranties are for! At least any stuff I can't fix myself.

Not sure about the new ones, but the older wranglers and CJ's are bulletproof. My dad has an '83 CJ-7 that he's had since new. Still has the stock 258...now with 10.5:1 compression, 750 quadrajet, headers, pocket ported 4.0L head, etc. The thing looks totally stock, but will climb walls.
The same similar engine was used until very recently as the 4.0L available in the wranglers and cherokees. Unstoppable engines. The CJ has about 200,000 miles on it, and mom just got rid of her 92 Cherokee with over 350,000 miles. That thing went through three radiators for some reason, but not a single hard part on the engine went south - it still has the original alternator and starter! Heck, the oil pan was never dropped. I was kinda pissed when she got rid of it, because I wanted it!
Nice haul. At least you didn't get a 4 door wrangler. *shudder* Those are almost as abhorrent as the idea of a 4 door charger...or the 4 cyl, FWD chargers of the 80's. ick.
