Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. i have a a schwinn suburban 73' i think but not sure and it has an abnormally small seat post (I'm coming from riding newer road bikes not older ones so weird to me i guess) and wondering if anyone can point me to where i could find the size of it so i can replace it, with my new seat and i know leave it like it is blah blah blah but i cant handle the seat on long rides and making it lighter is another plus. :)
If you don't get an answer here these guys will know.

All of the Schwinn electro-forged frames (including your Suburban) used a 13/16" diameter steel seatpost:

Sheldon Brown's site is a good reference for many bicycle parts questions.

Ok, now I will add my post question if y'all don't mind.
I am trying to fit a aluminum post from a mid 80's Fuji Allegro to a late 80's KHS Montana MTB that I'm turning hybrid. The post seems way tight so I'm wondering what size post the KHS would take. I really thought they would have been similar but I can only get the Fuji post in about 2 inches or so!

jeff, none of these say suburban, is it under another name? ill take your word for it on the 13/16" though thank you.

Quite possible the KHS is 26.8 compared with the Fuji 27, which would make for a tight fit. If it becomes a major issue for you, I have the KHS seat post -- if you ever get back down here to Tulsa.

Sometimes you can turn the post over and use the end with the full diameter on top instead of the tapered end.
13/16" posts with standard size tops are readily available on Ebay.
