I borrowed a simple HRM for yesterday's ride and found it nice to be able to monitor the pulse with my perceived exertion. So now I'm looking. While the search function turns up tons of threads, I am struggling with finding recent discussions on some things.
The biggest questions I have is "Have you upgraded since getting your basic one?" And "If so, what did you do with the older one?"
I am looking at the basic Polar FS1 vs the F11. I am not sure I need zone programing (nice, yes; a must-have, ???) as I am not racing. And honestly, have not defined major goals except to hit a sub-6 century with good climbing. Would be nice to download data to the computer for future reference, but I am not tracking my rides now (in a logbook).
I'm also looking at the Timex HRM, if that makes any difference.
So, did you get a basic HRM to start with and upgrade later? Or wait to afford a higher level one?
Thanks
David
