Northern California - the biggest, baddest, bestest race in Menlo Park

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

yup! it's the Tri-Flow Menlo Park Grand Prix p/b Hawk Relay (http://www.velogirls.com/team/menloparkcrit.php) this Sunday, MArch 8th from 9:00am to 6:00pm.

come out and cheer/heckle, take photos, race, wander through the expo. it'll be a super-fun day for everyone. we've got 600 athletes registered already. all of the men's fields are sold out except the geezers and the uber-geezers. the Elite men and women will be highlighted from 10:50am to 1:10pm.

we're also having a short memorial for fallen cyclists, Matt Peterson and Kristy Gough at 11:50 so plan to ride a silent lap in honor of our lost friends.

I'll be there! What's the expo all about?

we should have about a dozen sponsors and others (SVBC, Xtracycle, etc) with booths at the registration area. much fun, maybe some swag, and cool bike folks all around.

Of course, you had to make the race without monetary prizes the earliest to roll out in the morning. Wahh.

trust me, the E5s have the best prizes -- kisses from Velo Girls, home-baked cookies, and MPGP t-shirts!

it's a tradition to make the E5s suffer early. at least this year it's 9:00am instead of 8:00am in the past.

I will be there with the E5 group; no hopes of any kisses though :thumb:

Kisses from Velo Girls and cookies? I wish I didn't have to work this weekend. I'll take the day off next year. I'd be tempted not to upgrade to be eligible for the Cat5 prizes.:thumb:
